Starting from the fact that "ROMTRANS" till 1993 and presently "ROMTRANS" and "TRANSORIENT" mean the major freight-forwarder in Romania and one of the most important along the Danube river, it was decided that both companies should enter into an agreement with Constantza port administration for completing investments and exploitation of new port terminal, "Constantza South Agigea Mol 1S". Based on the agreement between "TRANSORIENT" and "ROMTRANS": - "ROMTRANS" is the sole stevedore on the whole area, performing all the port operation. - "TRANSORIENT" is the sole booking agent for the terminal, having the duty of cargo acquisition and concluding of all commercial contracts.
The port terminal "Constantza South Agigea Mol 1S" means: - 2.200 mtr of berth, out of which about 440 mtr with draft of 7-11.5 mtr and about 1.760 mtr with draft of 14.50 mtr. - Two modern warehouses, each of them with 4 cells, and along the warehouses the rail-lines are covered which means that loading/discharging of cargo cannot be interrupted by bad weather/rain, snow etc. - Location: Constantza South port, in the proximity of the Danube-Black Sea Canal and Agigea Free Zone. - Handling capacity of the terminal: 3-4 mil. m. tons/year. - Area: 239.911 sq.m. - Open storage area: 113.800 sq.m. - Warehouses area: 18.204 sq.m. - Car terminal: 40.000 sq.m. - Quay length: 2.200 m. - Number of berths: 11 pcs. - Draught: -7.0/-14.5 m. - Length of terminal railway system: 8.656 m. - Locomotives of 700 HP: 3 units. - Gantry cranes: - 16/20 to 4 units. - -5/6.3 to 8 units. - Floating cranes of 16-32 to 3 units.
