The company "TRANSORIENT" has been estabilished in 1992 and started efectively its activity in february 1993, as a joint stock company with Romanian and foreign capital. The share capital of the company was of 98.000 USD and lei 24.500.000, which meant at that time about 192.000 USD. The main share holder of the company is "ROMTRANS S.A." Bucharest. The oder shareholders are Romanian and foreign forwarding and trading houses. The main object of activity of "TRANSORIENT" consists of transport and forwarding of cargo both in international and domestic traffic.
The company
"TRANSORIENT" has taken from the beginning not only the full stuff
of ex "River Sea Transit Department" of "ROMTRANS", but also full
activity performed previously by the mentioned department. Based on its main object of activity and on well skilled stuff with long and good experience in forwarding and transportation, "TRANSORIENT" performs full range of services in the field of forwarding and transportation of conventional cargo in combined transportation including port handling services, both for transit and Romanian import/export. As a daughter company of "ROMTRANS", "TRANSORIENT" uses in its activity all "ROMTRANS" network inside Romania and abroad, which gives "TRANSORIENT" the possibility of immediate settlement of a wide range of problems as well as a very specific flexibility. "TRANSORIENT" is also cooperating with dauther companies of "ROMTRANS", estabilished in Romania as TRANSATLANTIC Bucharest, ZIMROM Bucharest, TRANSEUROPA Galati, TRANSCANAL Agigea, TRANSROMANIA Bucharest. "TRANSORIENT" is shareholder to some of that companies.
